The Earlscliffe Valedictory celebration is always a keystone event in our school calendar. Each year we are overwhelmed by the sentiment of the occasion – one of the rare events when our students are joined by their families and teachers to celebrate their achievements as one. We look back on all that the graduating class experienced over a 2-year period, and then forward to all that is to come. These years truly are formative and Earlscliffe is absolutely honoured to have been instrumental in guiding these students towards success, and a new phase of their lives.
Valedictory 2025 was, honestly, one of our most moving celebrations yet. It was a heartfelt evening filled with pride, reflection, and a touch of what we lovingly call the Earlscliffe Fairy Dust. Set against the elegant backdrop of Broome Park, we reflected on the moments of aspiration and personal development, with a powerful sense of community.
In his address, Head Teacher Mr Love praised this year’s cohort for their camaraderie, resilience, and mutual support – qualities that have defined their time with us and will no doubt shape their futures.
Head of Year, Miss Burkett, mentioned every single student by name. She thanked them each for their unique contributions to Earlscliffe, and shared their favourite memories – “First Four Saturdays”, meeting their best friends for life, visits to Disney Paris, social time in the boarding house…
This year’s highlight certainly has to be the moment when all students and all parents joined together to dance the final hour of the evening away. Not only students, Mums, Dads and teachers. But also one Spanish abuelo who tested his smooth-moves against a Kazakh grandfather. We couldn’t possibly call a winner from this dance-off!
Valedictory is more than a ceremony – it’s a moment to pause and honour the growth, courage, and transformation that takes place during a student’s time at Earlscliffe. What made the evening truly special were the powerful and emotional stories shared by parents. Their words were a genuine reminder of how deeply the Earlscliffe experience resonates – not just with students, but with families around the world.
