Easter Course

Easter at Earlscliffe for 8-17 year olds

We have been running English language and activity programmes for all ages (8–17 years) in the Easter holiday period for many years.

Qualified English language teachers will guide you through interactive lessons, discussions, and language practice activities to help you develop your fluency and accuracy.

For our Junior students (8-12yrs.), morning classes focus on the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, and our afternoon sessions being more interactive project lessons involving drama, music, film, arts and crafts.

For our senior students (13yrs.+ with a level of English B1+), we offer our Think Global! course in order to stimulate and improve the development of soft skills such as critical thinking, communication and collaboration.

Extra Intensive English

Students may take advantage of our extra learning options:
  • 4 hours per week
  • one to one lessons

Our Activities

Students play volleyball, basketball, badminton, billiards and table tennis on-site.Our supervised afternoon and evening activities include karaoke nights; football, softball, a ‘Summer of Talent’ show, swimming, themed disco nights, tennis, mini-golf, dry slope tobogganing, ‘jeux sans frontières’  and quiz nights to name but a few.
Regular beach walks are a popular part of the week’s activities. These sports and activities are offered from mid-afternoon, after the day’s lessons have finished. We are fortunate to be close to both Folkestone’s town centre and its shops, the artistic Creative Quarter, the beach and seafront, all of which offer our students moments of discovery and relaxation.
Given the unpredictable weather at this time of year, we do offer more trips and indoor sports on our Easter programme than you would find in summer.

The day trips

An Earlscliffe highlight is our weekly trip to London (Capital London) where we use the high-speed train link from nearby Folkestone Central station which has a journey time of only 54 minutes.

On Sundays we may visit the world-famous cathedral city of Canterbury and take a river boat tour or go to Leeds Castle and Bluewater. Students will be given some free time in small groups (Juniors are always supervised).

The rooms and meals

Most rooms are spacious single or twin rooms – all rooms are en-suite with WC, basin and shower. We also have a small number of triple rooms available. All rooms are Wi-Fi connected. The high standard of accommodation is attractive to today’s students, and all the more so given the beautiful Victorian façade of the buildings in which it sits.
Earlscliffe is an ‘in-town’ campus of buildings meaning that students can easily walk between classes, meals, accommodation and activities. (always supervised)
Meals are taken in the college dining room and prepared by our own chef and team. Meals are varied and often international, such as Chinese, Mexican or Indian, but not forgetting the occasional British fish and chips!
Any student’s special dietary needs can be catered for at special request, i.e. vegetarian, gluten-free etc. Students are given packed meals on day trips.
