Earlscliffe Celebrates Student Achievements

Posted: 23rd June 2026

Earlscliffe marked the end of another successful academic year with its Year 11 and 12 Celebration Event, held in the gardens of School House. Students and staff gathered in glorious sunshine to recognise the achievements and efforts of students across the school.

Dr Nicola Robinson, who joined Earlscliffe in April, opened the event by thanking both staff and students for the warm welcome she has received since her arrival. She also took the opportunity to invite students to put forward their ideas for new extra-curricular activities they would like to see introduced at Earlscliffe from September, signalling an exciting period of development for the school’s wider SCS programme.

The newly appointed Student Leadership Team outlined their intentions for the year ahead and expressed their enthusiasm for taking on their new responsibilities when they return in the Autumn term.

In an unexpected addition to proceedings, the students had also prepared a series of lighthearted awards for members of staff, including the Earlscliffe Legend Award, Best Actor, Best Singer, Most Trusted Adult, Best Listening Ear and Best Sense of Humour — undoubtedly one of the highlights of the afternoon!

Awards and Certificates

The central focus of the afternoon was the presentation of certificates to students across all subjects offered at Earlscliffe, recognising either academic achievement or effort as selected by individual subject teachers.

Certificates were also awarded to students in the following categories:

  • LAMDA — students who successfully completed their LAMDA qualification.
  • Academic Integration Completion
  • Year 11 Courses — students completing either the one-year GCSE course or the Pre-A-Level course
  • Boarding Commendations — presented by Mr Scargill to students who demonstrated exceptional behaviour and conduct within their boarding houses, as nominated by their house managers

As the academic year comes to a close, we say a fond farewell to all of our students as they head home to enjoy a well-earned summer with their families.

To those who will not be returning in September, we wish them every success in the next chapter of their journey and hope they leave Folkestone with wonderful memories of their time at Earlscliffe.

We very much look forward to welcoming back our current Year 12 students in September for what promises to be an exciting and rewarding final year of A-Levels, and to greeting the new faces joining our community.

We wish everyone a happy and restful summer.
