Year 12 students recently took an important step towards their future university and career pathways with a visit to the UCAS Discovery event at the London ExCeL Exhibition Centre.
The trip, organised by Ms Burkett, Head of Year 12, forms part of the school’s ongoing commitment, through the Earlscliffe Careers Institute, to provide exceptional guidance and support, for our international students navigating university applications.
With over 150 universities and colleges in one place, students loved being able to chat directly with representatives, ask honest questions, and start narrowing down their options. The variety of stalls really stood out, helping them explore everything from course choices to student life. These meaningful interactions are a key part of how Earlscliffe helps our students make informed, confident decisions about their futures.
A highlight of the day was the programme of live talks and subject spotlights. Engaging speakers offered valuable perspectives on university life, the application process, and specific degree subjects, helping students better understand what to expect and how to prepare.
Importantly, students also benefited from access to expert UCAS advisers, who provided clear, accessible guidance on key aspects of the application process, from understanding entry requirements and UCAS points to crafting strong personal statements.
This expert input complements the structured support provided through the Earlscliffe Careers Institute, where international students receive dedicated, step-by-step assistance with their applications.
