This term has been an outstanding one for sport at Earlscliffe, with exceptionally high levels of participation across all activities. It has been brilliant to see so many students getting involved, trying new sports, challenging themselves, and representing the school with pride.
Sport & Activities Programme
Students have taken part in a wide range of activities, including:
- Tennis
- Volleyball
- Football (boys & girls)
- Basketball
- Clay pigeon shooting
- Go-karting
We are also incredibly excited to be launching Rugby in the new year, developing a strong relationship with Folkestone Rugby Club. This will provide our students with a new pathway and a brilliant opportunity to experience the sport in a supportive, developmental environment.
PE Curriculum
In PE, our Study Abroad students have embraced a huge variety of sports designed to help them discover new interests. This term we’ve covered:
- Handball
- Hockey
- Football
- Basketball
- Badminton
- Touch Rugby
The engagement, effort and teamwork shown throughout the term has been fantastic, and it has been great to see students growing in confidence across multiple activities.
Basketball
Our basketball team has also demonstrated superb commitment. Despite facing strong opposition throughout the term, the group has continued to work hard, develop their skills and show real togetherness. Their attitude on and off the court has been a real credit to the school.
Girls’ Football
Our Girls’ Football Team has gone from strength to strength. Starting small at the beginning of the term, the group has developed into a committed, hardworking and talented squad. Led by our incredible captain Gabi Bruton, the girls have trained superbly each week, and we look forward to their upcoming fixtures in the new year.
Boys’ Football
This has been a rebuilding year for our boys’ football team. While results haven’t always gone our way, the boys have shown real resilience, discipline and true Earlscliffe spirit. Captain Jannik Nuddling has led the team with determination and maturity, and the progress in teamwork and attitude has been outstanding.
