Introducing Earlscliffe’s New Student Leadership Team

Posted: 15th August 2025

Earlscliffe is proud to announce the appointment of its new Student Leadership Team for the 2025/26 academic year. These prestigious roles are an important part of school life, giving students the opportunity to contribute to our community, inspire their peers, and help shape the future of Earlscliffe. Congratulations to:

  • Head Boy – Stepan

  • Head Girl – Aida

  • Head of Service – Mary

This year’s leaders take up the baton from Mara, Jonathan, and Jayden, who have set a fine example in these important positions, demonstrating friendship, positivity, and a tireless work ethic that will be hard to match.

Their legacy provides an inspiring foundation for the new team as they step into their roles and continue to build on the spirit and values that make Earlscliffe special.

A Rigorous Selection Process

This year’s appointments followed a careful process involving both Student Voice and Staff Voice, which were considered in detail by the Senior Leadership Team.

Each candidate gave a speech at a hustings event in front of the entire school, showcasing their vision, skills, and passion for the role.

Head Boy – Stepan

New Head Boy Stepan describes Earlscliffe as “more than just a school – it’s a community where people from different places support each other.”

Known for his helpfulness, Stepan values respect, positivity, and inclusion, and isn’t afraid to speak up when it matters. “A Head Boy should make sure everyone feels heard, included, and respected,” he says.

Head Girl – Aida

Head Girl, Aida’s exceptional public speaking skills shone during the hustings, no doubt strengthened by her earlier success reaching the finals of a public speaking competition at the University of Cambridge.

Aida explained, “I think I would make a great Head Girl because I am approachable, organised, responsible, and diligent. I am also part of the Art Council and a student in the Creative Arts Department, so I can say I am well-rounded, helping me understand everyone equally. Head Girl is not about being the loudest voice, but about lifting others up and leading by example.”

Her commitment to inclusivity and leading with empathy reflects the qualities she believes are essential for the role.

Head of Service – Mary

Newly appointed Head of Service, Mary, delivered a heartfelt speech (pictured on the right, alongside Johanna and Pauline)

Deeply passionate about charity work, she aims to take our charitable efforts beyond financial donations to focus on direct engagement with both local and international communities. Her plans include visiting orphanages, care homes, and other organisations to build empathy, better understand the needs of the underprivileged, and develop practical solutions.

She emphasised the importance of collaboration, inclusivity, and openness to ideas, aiming to unite the school in making a tangible difference.

Celebrating All Candidates

We extend our thanks to all students who took part in this year’s hustings, including Orlando, Kayla, Johanna, Gigi, Pauline, and Gabi, each of whom gave an impressive, often entertaining and thoughtful presentation.

Their contributions reflect the depth of talent, creativity, and leadership potential across our student body.

We look forward to working closely with Stepan, Aida, and Mary as they take on their new roles, and to seeing how our whole community continues to grow under their leadership.
