Earlscliffe recently hosted its Celebration Forum, an uplifting event that brought together students and staff to recognise achievement, reflect on progress, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of the school community.
The forum highlighted the breadth of student talent, beginning with a showcase of student artwork, demonstrating the creativity and the high standards of artistic expression across the school.
Celebrating Achievement and Values
At its heart, the Celebration Forum was an opportunity to recognise and reward students who have excelled not only academically, but also through their contribution to the wider school community.
Awards were presented across a range of areas, including:
- Academic Awards, recognising both improvement and sustained effort
- Boarding and Values Awards.
These awards celebrate students who embrace every opportunity, strengthen their house communities, and embody the values of Earlscliffe through their daily actions. Particular recognition was given to those who inspire others and contribute positively to boarding life.
A standout moment came from Year 12 student Gal, who delivered a powerful LAMDA speech exploring how stress impacts the body. The thoughtful and engaging presentation not only demonstrated impressive public speaking skills but also resonated with students as they prepare for the upcoming exam season.
Sporting Progress and Ambition
The forum also featured an inspiring speech from Gabi, Sports Captain, who reflected on the term’s sporting programme.
She highlighted the introduction of new sports and activities, increasing opportunities for participation and helping to build a stronger, more inclusive community. Across the term:
- The boys’ football team represented the school in the U18 Inter Schools League, with a renewed focus on commitment and development
- The girls’ football team reached an exciting milestone, playing their first ever competitive fixture in Earlscliffe history
- The basketball team demonstrated resilience and unity, competing strongly throughout a challenging season
- Rugby was introduced as a new and growing programme, with increasing student interest and plans for future fixtures

Gabi emphasised that sport at Earlscliffe is about more than performance, it is about building resilience, leadership, teamwork and a sense of belonging.
Preparing for Success
Mr Johnson, Deputy Head (Academic), addressed students with a focus on effective preparation for the forthcoming exam season. Drawing on insights from recent mock exam results, he highlighted the importance of structured revision planning over the Easter holidays and making full use of the wide range of academic support available at Earlscliffe. He emphasised that success is built on consistency, reflection and purposeful preparation, encouraging students to approach the coming weeks with clarity and confidence.
The Celebration Forum captured what makes Earlscliffe unique: a community that values academic ambition, creative expression, sporting development and personal growth in equal measure.
