Ms B Donaldson

Position:
House Manager

Beth brings an unusually rich blend of experience to boarding — one that stretches from the stages of the National Theatre to the classrooms of an international school in South Korea, with a great deal of meaningful support work in between.

A Dance graduate with a postgraduate background in business management, she spent over seven years working in an arts charity supporting people with learning disabilities and autism before moving into boarding education. That depth of experience,  creative, pastoral and practical, shapes everything she does in-house.

Beth enjoys getting to know each student individually and embracing the mix of cultures that makes her boarding house its own little world. Her Christmas dinner and Secret Santa are annual highlights of the boarding house.

“We are a relaxed house with a cosy, home-like feel — we are always laughing and joking around. That warmth and sense of fun is what makes our boarding house special.”

Outside of the house, Beth’s creative life is never far away. She is a regular theatregoer with a particular love of musicals, and her background in dance means she is rarely still for long. That same energy, spirited, expressive, a little bit theatrical, comes through in the atmosphere she has created at her boarding house from day one.
