Tim co-founded Earlscliffe with his wife Julie in 2012, and now serves as Chair of Governors, alongside his role as UK CEO at Dukes Education.
With 30 years in international education, Tim is committed to providing students with academic rigour, cultural enrichment and the personal support to help them succeed.
Tim began his career at St Clare’s, Oxford in 1990, before becoming Headteacher at Buckswood at just 32 — a role he held for over 12 years, growing the school from 67 to 420 students and building a thriving sixth form and football academy. He also led successful Ofsted inspections and overseas education projects in Nigeria and Georgia.
In 2001, Tim founded Sussex Summer Schools, a multi-centre residential programme for international students, home to his widely respected Mini-MBA™ course. He remains active in teaching, delivering A-level Politics workshops and university counselling, and values Earlscliffe’s international partnerships, including its role in UNESCO and Erasmus-funded projects across Europe.
Tim joined Dukes in 2019 as Managing Director of its boarding schools, becoming UK CEO in 2024 drawn by Dukes’ belief that each school should retain its own unique identity and ethos.
